306RW House

Highland Park, IL

The passive house design of this 2,800 square foot single family residence takes a sinuous form around oaks and pines on a heavily wooded lot on Chicago’s North Shore. Great care was taken to avoid the drip lines of the property’s most redeeming and beautiful resource while opening up to the forest-like surroundings. The house is designed and constructed of ICFs (Insulated Concrete Forms) and features a geothermal field for heating and cooling, hot air exhaust tower at the stair, two green roof decks, and solar panels for energy generation and domestic hot water.
