Work In Progress
This Ravenswood residential renovation project completely transforms a classic two-story house complemented by adding an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). Our plans include the removal of the back porch and creating a main suite with an overhang, adding a new concrete patio, and expanding the living area to form an open kitchen, dining, and living space—all at grade, seamlessly connecting to the backyard. The main suite will include an en suite bathroom, accompanied by a dedicated gym space and, for convenience, a strategically located laundry room. To enhance doggie functionality, we designed a mud room with a dog-friendly lobby, easily accessible from the rear porch. Down in the basement, a radiant floor and guest suite redefine the space. We’re replacing the existing front porch with a modern, non-Victorian version to give the house an updated, contemporary look.
The ADU will embrace the sun with a balcony covered by deep overhangs and roof slopes, thoughtfully designed to maximize solar gain in synergy with a solar panel array. To infuse both structures with an oasis vibe, we’ll encase them in stucco, evoking the color and texture of desert sand. This transformation creates a seamless blend of form, function, and aesthetics.
