Design Process
Single-family. First-floor kitchen and family room renovation with a rear deck addition. Our clients were craving outdoor space that was more inviting than the dated enclosed back porch commonly found in older Chicago homes.
We did a complete overhaul to the rear access and designed a cedar-clad deck that acts as additional living space during warmer months.
We also redesigned the old kitchen layout to create a more open space with room for a family gathering spot that takes full advantage of the expanded backyard views and a newly installed wood-burning fireplace.
